**Research Highlights**
- Performed pan-cancer analysis of the kinome, to gain insights into how members of the protein kinase superfamily are dysregulated in malignancy, the context-dependent functional role of specific kinases in cancer and how kinome remodelling modulates sensitivity to anticancer drugs.
